From North: A1 Exit A692 Gateshead, A184 Gateshead Centre, follows signs A1 South, leisure centre, Shaftesbury on left opposite leisure centre.

From South: A1 Exit A167 Gateshead (South) Springfield Hotel on right, take next slip road on left for Tourist Info Office, through traffic lights - Shaftesbury 100 yds on right.
